FAQ

Questions we get

Can an employee spend more than the allowance?
Only if you allow top-ups. Then they pay the difference themselves. With top-ups off, the menu only shows dishes within the allowance.
What happens if someone misses the cutoff?
They can't order for that day. The admin view lists who hasn't ordered so you can nudge them before 10:30 am.
How is this different from Grab For Business?
Grab lets you schedule meals up to two days ahead and delivers each order separately. Makan Hour runs every working day on a standing allowance, orders close at 10:30 am, and the whole office's lunch comes in one drop.
Is the food halal?
A dish carries the halal label only when we hold the caterer's JAKIM certificate. Anything else is labelled not certified, so you always know which is which.
Which areas do you deliver to?
Bangsar South only, for now. Join the waitlist for other areas.
Who cooks the food?
Partner caterers in the district. Makan Hour doesn't run a kitchen. Partner caterers onboarding now, and we'll name each one on this site once they sign.
What if lunch is late?
The caterer marks the delay in the app, and everyone who ordered gets an alert with the new time.
How do we pay?
One monthly invoice per office, payable by FPX. It lists the meals and the service fee of RM2 per meal, charged to the office, delivery included. There is no separate delivery charge.
